Auction Alfie has launched another great auction tool for savvy bargain hunters.
If you browse the web with Internet Explorer 8 then you can now install the auction accelerator so that you can check the prices of items you see on ANY website.
Accelerators save typing (just like Auction Alfie!) and even save copying and pasting as you can just highlight a word on a website, then simply select the Auction Alfie accelerator to search for that item across eBay, eBid, Amazon and all the best auction sites.

Auction Alfie has been named as the number one money-saving website by The Sunday Times.
This is such a great accomplishment and I am glad people find this unique comparison site as useful as I do.
There are now so many money-saving sites that you need a comparison site for the websites themselves — and that’s where many are now focusing. Auctionalfie.com, for example, compares listings for a chosen item on seven of the most popular auction sites, while mysupermarket.co.uk scours the web for all the best supermarket deals.
They used Auction Alfie to find the best deal on an Apple Macbook laptop:
Suppose you wanted an Apple Macbook laptop, which usually costs £816. You could fill in one search form at Auctionalfie and see that it is going for £600 on Cqout, compared with £770 on Amazon Marketplace.

There are lots of celebrity charity auctions on eBay.co.uk worth bidding on at the moment. People are already bidding in these charity auctions, but bargains can still be had – and the best bit is that all money goes to charity.

The 5 day eBay boycott by sellers has reportedly reduced eBay‘s listings by 3%, from 14.5 million to 14 million.
Whether this dip in listings is directly because of striking sellers and the eBay boycott or whether it is just seasonal is just speculation. But eBay has certainly upset some regular sellers and PowerSellers who have mentioned they are unlikely to return to sell on eBay – turning to alternative auction websites like eBid or uBid or classifieds like Craigslist and Loot to sell stuff on.

In an attempt to tackle the high postage and packing (P&P) fees some eBay sellers are demanding buyers to pay, eBay has added a ‘Total Cost’ sort option so buyers can now search for the cost of both the product and the shipping together.
This is a great step forward. I wonder if eBay would go as far as Amazon has gone and set a postage rate based on actual postage costs which the buyers pay and the seller gets a credit?

Having recently launched the Australian auction search, Alfie has produced a Google Gadget which you can either add to your Google homepage (iGoogle) or even add to your own website or blog. Searching for the best deals in Australia has just got easier.

If you are using Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox you can now add Auction Alfie’s auction search plugin so you don’t even need to come to AuctionAlfie.com to start your search – you can do it from any website!
To install the auction search plugin, drop down the ‘Search providers’ menu when you visit Auction Alfie next or go to our plugins page and install it straightaway:

Tazbar has introduced classified listings for certain products, like cars, which require more interaction between buyer and seller, or where the handover process is longer.
For example, when buying a car the buyer made need to ask further questions about tax, MOT, mileage etc, or offer a part-exchange opportunity, and would also want to test-drive.
This is slightly different than eBay‘s Buy-it-now feature as the listing will stay live on the website until the seller has finally exchanged products.
This is an exciting development for Tazbar and with low listing fees is great for sellers to.

eBay has launched Guest Buying to encourage new eBay members to buy stuff.
The benefits of Guest Buying is that you don’t have to register – you can just buy. However, you can’t bid, you can only use Buy it Now, then pay with PayPal.
